Merseyway shopping centre is promising local parents’ massive savings on next year’s school uniform as it opens a pop-up second-hand shop

Merseyway shopping centre in Stockport is promising local parents’ massive savings on next year’s school uniform as it opens a pop-up second-hand school uniform shop in the town centre.

Accepting all pre-worn school uniform items from Stockport schools, the pop-up shop will be reselling old items for 50p each, with all proceeds going to Chelwood Foodbank.

The centre will be accepting donations from until 19th August 2022, which can be dropped at the dedicated collection bins in the undercover mall located outside Specsavers.

Centre Manager, Victoria Nichol said: “We’re really excited to launch our first second-hand school uniform shop! With the cost-of-living crisis and many families looking to make as many savings as possible, our pop-up shop will not only provide them with good-quality preloved goods, but it will also provide much-needed donations to our local food bank. This is a fantastic recycling scheme, and we’d like to urge everyone to send their old school uniforms our way”.

All donations must be clean and wearable, and the scheme will accept all items including sweatshirts, cardigans, skirts, pinafores, trousers, shorts, polo shirts, shirts, shoes, plimsolls, and school bags.

The uniform shop will be open from 22 – 28th August 2022 while stocks last and will be located in a vacant unit in the covered mall.
