Award-winning restaurant group Maray, which opened on Manchester’s Brazennose Street this summer, are introducing their popular Sunday lunch offering this weekend.
Maray started life in Liverpool in the summer of 2014 when the restaurant’s three founders; Thomas White, James Bates and Dom Jones, all shared a joint adoration for the Parisian district of Le Marais. Their Middle-Eastern inspired food, drinkable drinks and dedication to exceptional hospitality has earned them a die-hard following.
Gently influenced by the spicing of the Middle East, the new Maray roast will involve Cumbrian Beef served pink; crispy skinned and juicy Za’atar Chicken, and a Falafel inspired Chickpea Nut Roast. All will be served with a gravity defying Yorkshire Pudding, roasties and no less than SIX types of veggies.
Maray’s take on the classic weekend winner hasn’t been available since 2020 and will be welcomed back with open arms at their Manchester, Bold Street and Allerton Restaurants when served from Midday-5.30pm.
Maray is now a four strong restaurant group with a loyal fanbase of falafel lovers. The term ‘Disco Cauliflower’, which refers to one of their signature dishes, worked its way into the local vocabulary soon after appearing on the menu and now over 3,000 portions are served in their restaurants every month.
With main courses starting at £14 and a range of mezze available for starters, all you need is a bottle (they recommend the Tikveš, a silky smooth North Macedonian Red at £22) and a pile of soft, pillowy pitta for mopping up the gravy.
Maray’s mission at the start of their journey was simply to serve the best Falafel alongside incredible drinks, in the most relaxed and enjoyable atmosphere possible. Eight years on and the trio are pretty confident, they are offering just that.
