Escapism, a brand-new series of immersive daytime electronic music events is kicking off in Manchester and spearheaded by Geoff Oakes, founder and former head of the legendary Renaissance brand.

The inaugural event will take place on Saturday, 10th October, at one of Manchester’s most remarkable architectural spaces: the iconic Victoria Baths. Oakes’ new bespoke venture creates carefully curated experiences in truly extraordinary locations.

The stunning Victoria Baths is a Grade II Listed former Victorian swimming baths. This breathtaking historic building, with its spectacular stained glass and grand architecture, strongly connects to the city’s musical heritage, having famously hosted A Guy Called Gerald during Manchester’s electronic music explosion in 1988.

The inaugural event features an expertly curated lineup headed by Grammy-winning duo Deep Dish, pioneering DJ Smokin Jo (known for her legendary Space Ibiza residency), and rising talent Pattn.

Designed for a discerning 25+ audience and a no phones on the dancefloor policy in place, Escapism places equal emphasis on music, environment, and atmosphere.

Speaking on the new venture, Geoff Oakes, Co-Founder of Escapism shares,
“Escapism was created to bring world-class electronic music and exceptional production into historic and extraordinary spaces. We’ve carefully considered every detail; from the line-up, acoustics and production to the visual environment and the food and drink offering, transforming remarkable venues into immersive and unique experiences that encourage you to spend the whole day with us. Escapism is much more than just a day rave!”
