An inspiring free event bringing together the power of live spoken storytelling and the beautiful game is heading to Manchester’s National Football Museum this Saturday (9 November).
Created by experts in original sports storytelling content, Goal Click, alongside Manchester’s Heard Storytelling, Goal Click Heard, which premiered in Miami in 2023, showcases the transformative power of football not just as a game, but as a force for building community, fostering social change and igniting creativity and cultural expression.
An incredible line–up of storytellers – who are all unique to the Manchester event – will share theirpersonal journeys and impactful stories on the theme of ‘Beyond the Scoreline’, demonstrating how football transcends the pitch.
Through their raw and real-life narratives, the audience will gain insight into the profound ways football unites people, drives activism, and serves as a platform for personal growth.

The live spoken storytelling event is part of the Football Voices Festival – a weekend of talks, exhibitions, pop-ups, poetry and more at the National Football Museum this weekend (9 – 10 November).
This is the first Goal Click Heard event in the UK by the storytelling collective, with the event premiering in Miami in 2023 as part of Art Basel FC – a four-day football event timed to coincide with the world-renowned annual art festival.
Manchester-based Heard Storytelling specialise in creating safe, empowering spaces for true stories and regularly host Heard Live – live storytelling events which give a platform to unheard voices telling extraordinary true stories in venues across Manchester city centre.
Colette Burroughs-Rose from Heard Storytelling said:
“This is going to be an unforgettable night of raw and real spoken stories which will delve into the real-world impact of football on individuals and society and how football has become a powerful platform for social good, activism and self-expression.
“While these stories may touch on football, they’re crafted to resonate far beyond the game so you don’t need to be a football fan to appreciate the inspiring, deeply human narratives we’ve selected for the evening.”
Goal Click Heard takes place on Saturday 9 November at 6pm at the National Football Museum. Entry is free, to register for tickets go to https://nationalfootballmuseum.digitickets.co.uk/event-tickets/61242?catID=58950&
