Manchester Pride has announced the launch of the Impact Fund, a pioneering funding initiative created to support projects and organisations serving the LGBTQ+ communities in Greater Manchester.

The goal is to allocate vital funds to a broad array of initiatives that leave a meaningful imprint on the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals.

Local organisations are urged to apply to benefit from a funding pool of up to £10,000 per organisation. The Manchester Pride Impact Fund is focused on supporting projects in the following areas:

  • HIV stigma: Projects and initiatives aimed at addressing and reducing HIV-related stigma within the LGBTQ+ community.

  • LGBTQ+ events: Initiatives that promote and celebrate LGBTQ+ culture, history, and achievements through events, festivals, and community gatherings.

  • LGBTQ+ mental health: Projects that provide support, resources, and services to improve the mental health and well-being of LGBTQ+ individuals.

  • LGBTQ+ sexual health: Initiatives that focus on improving sexual health awareness, access to services, and education within the LGBTQ+ community.

  • LGBTQ+ wellbeing: Projects that enhance overall well-being and quality of life of LGBTQ+ individuals, including social support and community-building efforts.

Eligibility criteria

Manchester Pride invites applications from organisations engaged in arts, community, education, environment, faith, health, museums and heritage, welfare, and youth sectors. The funding process promises fairness and equity for all qualifying entrants.

Organisation types eligible for funding:

  • UK registered charities

  • Charitable Incorporated Organisations (CIOs)

  • Community Interest Companies (CICs)

  • Social Enterprises

Organisations not eligible for funding:

  • Individuals

  • Community Benefit Societies

  • Local authorities and councils

  • Schools, academies or universities

  • Animal rescue organisations and shelters

  • Exempt and excepted under Charity Commission guidance

Application deadline

All eligible organisations are being encouraged to apply before the deadline on Friday 22nd December 2023. Applications are assessed by an independent community panel and decisions will be made in early 2024.
