A Manchester dental practice is expanding with a second site to meet the growing demand for local services and improve the quality of care for its existing patients, creating up to 15 new jobs.

Based in Denton, Thornley Park Dental offers private dental care to more than 5,000 patients within the local community. Its 15-strong team offers a wide range of tailored dental services, from routine check-ups to cosmetic treatments such as dental implants and orthodontic care.

The practice, owned by Dr Sharan Suthar and Dr Alan Worrall, is now using a £1.1m finance package from Lloyds to acquire and fit-out a second site on the same street as its first premises, which will create four new surgeries for patients once it opens in the Autumn this year.

Thornley Park Dental also investing in a new low dose CBCT scanner for its new site, which is used to create the detailed 3D scans needed for implants and other advanced treatments, so it can deliver more specialist services in-house.

The new premises has also been designed with accessibility in mind, with three of the surgeries located on the ground floor and accessible by wheelchair to reduce waiting times for Thornley Park Dental’s patients with mobility needs.

It also gives Thornley Dental Park the capacity to double its staff, with plans to bring in more specialist practitioners such as an oral surgeon or orthodontist. All of this will enable the dentist to improve the quality of care it provides, bring down waiting times for its current patients and increase the number of people it is able to provide treatments to.

Dr Sharan Suthar, principal dentist and co-owner at Thornley Park Dental, said: “We’ve built our practice around giving patients a high standard of care and a supportive experience from the moment they contact us. As demand has grown, we’ve reached the point where we need more space to look after our existing patients as quickly as they deserve, while also giving us the capacity to support more people with our dental care.

“Having a second site just two doors down means we can expand without moving away from the local community, and I’m grateful for the support from Lloyds in helping us to create a modern, and more accessible practice for our patients.”

Stephen Morris, relationship manager at Lloyds, added:“Thornley Park Dental is a great example of a practice that’s thinking long-term about what its patients need and how it can meet this. This new site will help Sharan, Alan and their team to address the growing local demand for its dental services while also creating new jobs in Denton as the practice continues to grow.

“It was great to be able to support Thornley Park Dental as it takes this next step and I look forward to seeing the new practice once it’s open later this year.”
