This Sunday 26 May will see a parade through the city centre by players from Manchester City to mark their achievement in becoming the first ever male team since the inception of the Football League in 1888 to win four successive championships.

Players will travel in an open-top bus from the National Football Museum in Cathedral Gardens, along the length of Deansgate, with the parade starting at 7:30 pm and expected to end around 9 pm.

Members of the public who want to join in the celebrations should note that the city centre is expected to be very busy on Sunday as the Great Manchester Run is also taking place that day and will see tens of thousands of runners take to the city’s streets, with the final stretch of the race finishing on Deansgate.

A series of already published road closures will be in place over the weekend to facilitate the Great Manchester Run and additional road closures to facilitate the Manchester City Parade will also be necessary.

Fans planning to attend Sunday’s parade are therefore asked to use public transport where possible, to travel light – no big bags – and not to bring drinks in glass bottles with them.
