A Manchester based artist has designed this year’s Royal Mail’s Xmas stamps which go on sale from this morning.

The six stamps, ranging in value from 1st and 2nd class to £2.25, were crafted by Helen Musselwhite, using paper cut-outs, which were then photographed.

Traditional festive images of a snowman, robin and lantern are included in the Royal Mail’s Christmas stamps this year. A Christmas tree, pudding and stocking complete the set.

“Illustrating the Royal Mail Christmas 2016 stamps has been one of the most important and favourite jobs of my career to date.” Says Helen, adding

“I’m immensely proud that my work will be winging its way across the world sending season’s greetings far and wide from the UK.”
On her website Helen says “For me, it all started with one of those bumper packs of felt tips. One of my earliest memories is of tearing open Christmas wrapping paper to find a vivid array of coloured pens inside – then immediately rearranging the colours in a way that pleased me better. That was it; I was off on a voyage of creative discovery that continues to this day.
