The MPA (Manchester Publicity Association) has announced the return of Native Creatives, a free one-day event, showcasing the Creative, Digital, and Media industries in Greater Manchester. This future talent day is aimed at students based within the region, from sixth formers to those studying at universities or colleges.

After a short hiatus due to Covid, the event will take place on Wednesday 8th November on campus at UA92 in Old Trafford, as businesses from across Greater Manchester prepare to lift the lid on what working in these industries is all about.

Those donating their time to deliver presentations on their respective careers will include, McCann Manchester, Roland Dransfield, The Behaviours Agency, Mediacom, and more. The team behind Native Creatives have also partnered with local educational institutions such asUA92, Manchester Met University, and Manchester College to encourage students to come along and learn more about potential careers that they can go into.

The days agenda will cover an early careers panel discussion, open door sessions run by discipline, giving insight into day-to-day agency life, drop-in clinics for careers advice, and more information on further education and apprenticeships. The specific zones will feature Creative & Advertising, Media, Animation & Gaming, PR & Social, TV & Film, and Digital.

Rob Sethna, Senior Business Advisor and DCT Specialist at The Growth Company, who is sponsoring the event, said:

“The Business Growth Hub is excited to be sponsoring this years’ Native Creatives. We are committed to broadening the understanding of the Creative and Digital Industries and to support, promote and encourage fresh new talent to access the sector. This event does everything and more and is a brilliant initiative for the future too.”

Lydia Swindell, Associate Director at Major Players, said:

“Since setting up our Northern office in 2022, Major Players have been keen to further engage with the local community and are delighted to support the MPA and their Native Creatives initiative – we will be there on the day to provide career advice and support the students.”

Sara Prowse, CEO at UA92, said:

“UA92 provides a deliberately different offering to students who may not have previously thought that higher education or university study was for them. We’re delighted to support such a thriving sector and showcase our courses and our campus to those considering their first steps in the world of media.”

Cindy Simmons, Managing Director of the MPA, said:

“We worked hard on Native Creatives during 2018 and 2019 but sadly, we had to cull the event in 2020.  However, I do believe we are back bigger and better and with outstanding support from our agency partners.  Without the support of our sponsors, UA92, Business Growth Hub, Major Players, and Clear, we could not make this a free to attend event for our next generation of emerging talent.”

The morning slot is now full but bookings for Native Creatives in the afternoon slot, 2 to 6pm, are still available and can be made here.
