The man remains in a critical condition in hospital after he was found unconscious with a head injury on Claremont Road, Moss Side shortly after 3pm yesterday
Police say that at this stage, it is not known how he sustained this injury.
Enquiries are ongoing in the area, but they are calling on anyone who may have information, or dash cam footage in the time leading up to him being found, to come forward so they can understand whether an assault has taken place, and if so, who is responsible.
