Cheshire Police have confirmed that a man died after the car he was driving hit the central reservation on the M56 and burst into flames early this morning
The silver Audi A8 which had collided with the central reservation between junction 7 and junction 6. and was well alight when firefighters arrived
Firefighters extinguished the fire but sadly, the driver of the vehicle died as a result of the incident.
The person’s family have been made aware and they are being supported by officers.
Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are appealing to anyone who may have dashcam footage or witnessed the collision to get in touch.
