A man in his 20s is in hospital after two groups of males fought in the street in Prestwich in the early hours of this morning
Police Owere called to a disturbance at around 4:20am this morning at the Heaton Street / Recreation Street area of Prestwich.where a group of males are reported to have been attacked by another group, who assaulted them with weapons and stole their car: a grey coloured Audi A3 – which has since been located and recovered by police.
Officers are now appealing for witnesses and anyone who might have footage – including CCTV, mobile or dashcam.
Detective Sergeant Carolyn Morley of GMP Bury said: “This was a violent attack and I want to assure the local community that GMP takes incidents of this nature very seriously and is following up multiple lines of inquiry.
“We believe this was an isolated incident and we are determined to see that those responsible are apprehended and held to account.
