A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed in Stockport earlier this morning.
Police were alerted by hospital staff about a man who had suffered a serious stab wound to his leg.
The 35-year-old is currently in a critical condition.

Investigating officers have established a scene where the stabbing is believed to have happened. This is near to the Salisbury Club on Truro Avenue in Brinnington.
Detective Inspector Julia Bowden, from GMP’s Stockport borough, said: “This is a very serious attack and we are doing everything we can to work out exactly what happened.
“A dedicated team of detectives are currently trawling through CCTV whilst forensic officers are combing the area.
“We believe this offence happened around 8.40am this morning on Truro Avenue which is surrounded by lots of houses and flats.
“People will have been in the area and it’s possible residents saw or heard something but might not have realised the nature of the incident.
“We have been knocking on doors and will continue to do so, but I would urge people to please contact us if you think you might have some information.
“Even if you think it’s nothing, it could help us uncover who did this and why.

“We understand there may be concerns in the community but I want to stress that we are doing everything in our power to find the person responsible.
“You will see extra officers about and please approach them if you do have any concerns.”
