A man has died after being hit by a tram last night in the City Centre
The incident happened just after 11.00pm at the Deansgate-Castlefield stop
Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have been made.
Sergeant Matthew Waggett, of GMP’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This was a tragic incident and enquiries are ongoing to establish what happened in the moments leading up to the collision, and to fully understand how this collision occurred.
“We would ask anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have been on the Metrolink platforms at Deansgate-Castlefield in the moments leading up to the incident to please get in touch with police as soon as possible.
