Police are appealing for witnesses after a man armed with a sawn-off shotgun robbed a bookmakers in Chadderton.
The incident happened atvabout 8.15pm on Saturday 21 January a man went into a bookmakers on Chadderton shopping precinct, pulled a double barrelled sawn-off shotgun from a plastic bag, and used it to threaten the staff member and a customer.
The staff member was forced to open the till and the safe and the offender fled with cash. The man has been described as Asian or black, aged 21-22-years-old and of heavy build. He was wearing a black jacket and black balaclava.
Police have launched an investigation and have released CCTV images.
Detective Constable Mike Hayman of GMP’s Oldham Borough said: ““The man was carrying a distinctive plastic bag and I would appeal to anyone who saw the man entering the bookmakers before the robbery, or has any information about who may be responsible, to contact police.
