Lidl GB is inviting the local community to consult on draft plans to deliver a new store on Mauldeth Road West, Chorlton.

The proposed multi million-pound investment would see the development of a new store offering Lidl’s high quality and affordable produce to residents in the Chorlton area, along with the creation of around 40 new jobs for the local community.

The new supermarket would have a sales area of 1,339m2, featuring facilities such as Lidl’s popular in-store bakery and customer toilets including baby changing facilities. The store will be supported by 88 parking spaces, including four dedicated disabled spaces, nine parent and child spaces, and two electric vehicle charging spaces. The store will also feature appropriate cycle parking provision.

The public are invited to view and provide comments on the plans online through the following website: https://tinyurl.com/Lidlchorltonor via telephone: 0161 8176225 by Friday 30thSeptember 2022.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Nick Harvey, commented: “We are delighted to announce plans to bring a new Lidl supermarket to serve Chorlton. We are excited at the prospect of bringing a new store on Mauldeth Road West and hope that as many people as possible are able to participate in this public consultation. We look forward to sharing our plans and look forward to receiving feedback from local residents.”

The new store forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl GB now the 6thlargest supermarket in the UK.
