The Lib Dems have suspended their Rochdale council candidate Farooq Ahmed after he was pictured campaigning for George Galloway
According to reports on LBC,Ahmed is standing as a Lib Dem candidate in Central Ward in Rochdale this May and has been pictured with the Liberal Democrat candidate Iain Donaldson, but was also spotted distributing Galloway leaflets
A Liberal Democrat spokesperson said:
“Under 3.8D of our Federal Constitution, you are not allowed to support another political party.Therefore Farooq Ahmed has clearly established he is no longer eligible to be a member.”
