Snow showers merging on Sunday evening has seen some significant falls on snow across the region overnight with a couple of centimetres currently lying on the ground

However the main problems on Monday morning will be colder temperatures with a severe frost

Temperatures could fall to as low as minus eight degrees with little chance of them rising above freezing during the day

The Met Office yellow warning for snow and ice remains in force until 12pm today across Greater Manchester.

There is currently not a great deal of distruption to report with most roads clear although the A57 Snake Pass is currently closed

Rail,bus and Metrolink services are all operating normally and Manchester Airport is fully open although one runway is closed at Liverpool’s John Lennon Airport
