The man bidding for control of Manchester United Sheikh Jassim has submitted a fifth bid to buy 100% of the club and according to reports it is improved bid with clear indication: take it or leave it.

Reports say that there will be no more bids from Qatari group and after this Friday, Sheikh Jassim will no longer engage with the process.

Both Sheikh Jassim and rival bidder Sir Jim Ratcliffe had been waiting to hear back about their bids from the Glazer family.

Those close to the bid say the latest offer is a significant premium on the current share price of the club but it is understood to still be short of the Glazers’ £6billion valuation.

The Glazers are believed to prefer Sir jim Ratcliffe’s proposal as it would see then retain some of their shares whereas the Qatari bid would see the consortium take a 100 per cent share.

Fans are said to prefer the Qatari bid as it also comes with significant investment to  the ground and training facilities
