Police have described a shooting yesterday evening in Kersal as an isolated attack.

A 31-year-old man arrived with gunshot injuries. He was treated for his injuries before being discharged.

The incident took place at around 6.45pm earlier that evening around the Littleton Road area.

Detective Chief Inspector Rick Thompson, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “After months of positive work with partners and the community, we sit in a much better position in this city than where we started eighteen months or so ago.

“That said, when incidents like this come around they are of concern, but we have a range of tried and tested tactics that can be effectively employed to take direct enforcement action against those we suspect of being involved in such incidents.

“Our initial enquiries into this attack remain ongoing; thankfully the victim’s injuries aren’t serious but nevertheless we are keen to hear from anyone with information about this incident and I appeal to the community to speak to our officers on the ground, to us over the phone on 101, or report online quoting incident number 2535 of 05/10/2021.
