Junior Doctors now known as resident Doctors have voted to hold a fresh wave of strikes over pay

The Doctors were awarded a 5.4% pay rise for this financial year, following a 22% increase over the previous two years

The vote came after the BMA criticised ‘woefully inadequate’ 5.4% award for medics which they said was below the 29% they say is necessary to address years of erosion in real-terms pay.

“Doctors have spoken and spoken clearly: they won’t accept that they are worth a fifth less than they were in 2008″ said a spokesperson
