Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced the launch of scheduled flights and holidays from Manchester Airport to Morocco for the first time.

As a result of today’s announcement, the UK’s largest tour operator and third largest airline will operate year-round from Manchester Airport to two destinations in Morocco – Agadir and Marrakech – with flights and holidays on sale for both Winter 24/25 and Summer 25.

The companies will operate up to four weekly flights to Morocco from the airport, commencing from October 2024 and running right through to November 2025. Customers travelling to Morocco with Jet2holidays and Jet2CityBreaks will be able to choose from approximately 50 4-5 star hotels across Marrakech city, the wider Marrakech area and Agadir.

Today’s launch gives customers and independent travel agents fantastic choice when it comes to booking a Morocco holiday, whether it’s a bucket list getaway, city break or beach holiday.

The launch of year-round holidays, city breaks and flights from Manchester Airport to Marrakech means that local holidaymakers can enjoy a kaleidoscopic melting pot of culture. In the centre of the ‘Red City’, customers on a Jet2CityBreak can choose from almost 20 hotels or Riad style accommodation, using these centrally-located bases to fall in love with Marrakech’s buzzing centre where labyrinth-like streets lead to hidden riads that are adorned with exquisitely tiled courtyards.

With bright-blue and canary-yellow ceramics dotted between famous terracotta stonework, holidaymakers can mingle with locals as they wander through the world-famous Jemaa el-Fnaa square, picking up souvenirs from tea to hand-woven rugs. At night, the markets and atmosphere come to life, with the timeless Moroccan experience guaranteed to enchant and delight.

In addition, customers travelling on a Jet2holiday can also enjoy the city and its surrounding areas, experiencing the Moroccan way of life whilst enjoying the sunshine and facilities in a selection of over 20 4 and 5-star hotels in the Marrakech area. These hotels provide customers with the benefits of resort-style accommodation, with all the delights of an iconic city located nearby too.

The company will operate two weekly flights from Manchester Airport to Marrakech between 4th October 2024 and 14th November 2025.

Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have also today launched year-round flights and holidays from Manchester Airport to Agadir, which takes the crown as Morocco’s most popular pick for a beach getaway. Located on the west coast of Morocco, Agadir’s biggest draw is a 9km-long stretch of golden sand which is dotted with hotels, waterparks and a selection of incredible bars and restaurants.

As well as enjoying the sand and surf, holidaymakers can discover Agadir and its souks, minarets and tea cafes. Customers can also venture to the laidback fishing village of Taghazout or the traditional Immi Ouaddar.

Jet2 will operate two weekly flights to Agadir from Manchester Airport between 3rd October 2024 and 16th November 2025.

Customers can choose from almost 20 hotels in Agadir with Jet2holidays, with a wide selection of quality hotels available, mostly 4-star and above.

As well as experiencing the delights of Morocco all-year round, customers can also choose award-winning holidays and flights, whether that is a package holiday with Jet2holidays, a city break with Jet2CityBreaks, or a leisure flight with Jet2.com. Each of the brands have been recognised as a Which? Recommended Provider for providing industry-leading levels of customer service and customer experience.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays said: “We are thrilled to be giving customers and independent travel agents even more choice from Manchester Airport thanks to the launch of Morocco as a brand-new destination. With year-round availability to the magical destinations of Marrakech and Agadir, we are giving holidaymakers access to two famous holiday hotspots. We are incredibly excited about these new destinations, and we know how immensely popular they will be with our customers.”

He added: “This latest expansion demonstrates the strength of our growing business, and it comes on the back of customers and independent travel agents across the region choosing to travel with us time and time again. Our award-winning proposition clearly continues to delight holidaymakers and we look forward to welcoming even more customers onboard thanks to the launch of these two brand-new destinations.”

Stephen Turner, Commercial Director at Manchester Airport, said: “We’re proud to serve the North and we connect our passengers to more destinations than any other airport outside London. Jet2.com and Jet2holidays’ addition of these two Moroccan destinations is fantastic news for us and for our passengers, and it will provide them with even greater choice.

“Passengers are looking to broaden their horizons and are seeking out exciting, emerging destinations which offer great value for money, so we’re sure Agadir and Marrakesh will prove extremely popular.”
