On the back of very strong demand from holidaymakers looking to enjoy some winter sunshine, Jet2 have extended the season to Malta from Manchester Airport, with flights operating until mid-November 2022 and starting in March 2023.

The extension means the leading leisure airline and UK’s leading tour operator to the Mediterranean are now operating weekly Thursday services to the popular destination from Manchester Airport up to 17th November 2022 and flights starting from 2nd March 2023. Existing Sunday services means Jet2 are offering up to two weekly flights from the base in November 2022 and March 2023. This gives customers and independent travel agents even greater choice and flexibility when it comes to enjoying or offering a holiday in the sunshine of varying durations.

Set in the heart of the Mediterranean, Malta is one of the smallest countries in the world but offers plenty when it comes to culture and sightseeing. Surrounded by centuries-old walls and bursting with grand mansions and lush gardens, the Mediterranean island is made for exploring all year round. Holidaymakers can discover the UNESCO-stamped capital Valletta and the quaint, ages-old silent city of Mdina. There are also Malta’s seaside resorts including Mellieha Bay, St Paul’s Bay and Qawra, offering stretches of rocky coast and sheltered bays.

On the back of international travel returning to normal, Jet2 have continued to see strong and sustained demand from holidaymakers looking to get away. The assurance of an ATOL protected package holiday is also proving to be popular with customers, as is booking through a reputable provider that has looked after customers during the pandemic.

Jet2 have been widely praised and commended for their handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, including swiftly refunding customers who have had their flights or holidays cancelled. Most recently, both companies were recognised as Which? Travel Brand of the Year for the way the companies have looked after customers and independent travel agents, both during the pandemic as well as now that international travel has reopened.

The Institute of Customer Service recently ranked Jet2holidays as the best UK tour operator and Jet2.com as the best UK airline for providing customer service. Jet2.com and Jet2holidays were also ranked as the Best Travel Firms for providing refunds according to a survey of respondents by Money Saving Expert, and the UK Civil Aviation Authority has recognised Jet2.com as the only UK airline to provide prompt refunds.

Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays, said:

“Since the return of international travel, we have seen strong and sustained demand for flights and ATOL protected package holidays. As always, we have responded to that demand by extending the season to Malta from Manchester Airport and offering flights up until 17th November and restarting again in March. It means we are operating more services to Malta during the winter period and giving customers and independent travel agents even more opportunity to enjoy or offer a holiday in the sunshine. With customers continuing to jump at the chance to book and travel on their well-deserved holidays, we are confident that these new services to Malta, coupled with our award-winning customer service, will prove very popular.”
