Fresh from winning the Best Video award at the BCMAs last night, Jess and the Bandits will be performing in Manchester on Friday night.

The band have had a busy year. Their  debut album Here We Go Again re-entered the Official Country Charts and they have performed sessions for both Terry Wogan and Bob Harris over the summer as well as performing the closing set of this year’s SummerTyne Festival.

After receiving critical acclaim for Here We Go Again alongside support from BBC Radio 2 for the album’s lead singles, ‘Single Tonight’ and ‘You Can’t Stop Me’, the band, fronted by Former American Idol contestant Jessica Clemmons, have  spent the summer working alongside High Street plus size fashion retailer Evans on their new single ‘Nitty Gritty’, which has seen them appear on Lorraine, Weekend with Aled Jones and The Wright Stuff, as well as providing the runway appearance at UK Plus Size Fashion Week as part of London Fashion Week.

To celebrate the video collaboration the band launched a social media competition to find 10 ‘real women’ to feature in their video. Revealing her own body confidence mantra as ‘We’re all incredible, be you and focus on that’, frontwoman Jessica has asked entrants to share their own personal body confidence mantra.
Of the collaboration, Fiona Ross, the brand director of Evans, says, ‘We’re thrilled to be working on this exciting project with Jess and the Bandits. Jessica embodies everything we’re passionate about at Evans. The new, empowering single ‘Nitty Gritty’ reinforces our belief that #STYLEHASNOSIZE and we’re so happy to have her as an ambassador.’

This is their debut UK headline tour this October, which follow on from their sold out London shows earlier this year, Jess and the Bandits promise that this year is just going to get bigger and better.

Jess and the Bandit’s play at Gulliver’s this Friday.
