A week after Lancashire teenager Jay Slater went missing on the Spanish Island of Tenerife, the search continues and this morning his family have shared a CCTV image showing a possible sighting of him

The image was taken at around 6.00pm last Monday at least ten hours after the previously reported last sighting

In his last phone call to a friend, he said he was lost, in need of water and nearly out of phone battery as he attempted an 11-hour walk back to his accommodation.

Yesterday his mother Debbie Duncan claimed a witness has told police they believe they saw Jay in the village of Santiago with two men on Monday night.

The sighting was around four miles away from where the nineteen year old stayed on the Sunday night

He was last positively sighted by Ofelia Medina Hernandez, who told him the bus is due at 10am when he asks. He sets off walking and she says she later drives past him “walking fast”.

Helicopters, rescue dogs and drones have spent days scouring overgrown terrain, hillsides and rivers around the island and on Friday, they combed a vast area of land in and around the village of Masca before narrowing their search to where the teenager’s phone last pinged.
Yesterday officers from the Guardia Civil could be seen circling two structures at the bottom of a ravine in Rural de Teno Park on Sunday.
