An Unlicensed and uninsured man who led police on a 90mph chase through Bolton has been jailed and banned from driving for 4 years

Tyler Huddart aged 21 of Rose Hill Avenue, Wigan, passed officer’s from GMP’s Road Policing Unit at high speed on Wigan Road towards Chequerbent Roundabout back in June

When police first tried to stop Huddart, he reversed and shunted one of the police cars before speeding off, reaching speeds of up to 90mph, and running multiple red lights to escape the pursuing officers. After a foot chase the driver was detained and arrested.

Huddart pleaded guilty to dangerous driving, driving without a licence, driving without insurance, and failing to stop for police. The case was heard at Bolton Crown Court last week.

Police Constable Tom Berry of GMP’s Roads Policing Unit said “Huddart’s level of driving that day was nothing short of appalling. He had ample opportunity to stop his car and pull over, but he chose not to do so, prioritising his escape from the Police over the safety of everybody else. It is only thanks to the teamwork and professionalism of the officers involved that the pursuit was brought to a safe conclusion resulting in Huddart being caught and arrested.

“Making Greater Manchester’s roads a safer is a top priority for GMP, and this is just one example of the hundreds of arrests made this year by the Roads Policing Unit. The Roads Policing Unit will continue to target those drivers who are unlicenced, uninsured and driving under the influence of drink and drugs.”
