Five crew are ‘unaccounted for on a coast guard aircraft’ after it collided with passenger jet which then exploded as it skidded along Tokyo airport runway
The incoming flight was Japan Flight JL516, an Airbus A350 operated by Japan Airlines with 379 people which crashed at Tokyo-Haneda International Airport.
The airline says that all 379 passengers and crew had been safely evacuated from the plane
Local TV video showed a large eruption of fire and smoke from the side of the Japan Airlines plane as it taxied on a runway. The area around the wing then caught fire. Footage an hour later showed the plane fully on fire.
