A substantial amount of drugs has been stolen from a pharmacy in Oldham at the weekend and officers are urgently trying to recover them.

The pharmacy on Greengate Street, St Mary’s, was burgled in the early hours of Sunday morning

A potentially dangerous number of prescription medications were taken and officers have since recovered a quantity of them.

They are now trying to trace the outstanding drugs and are urging anyone who comes across them not to take them.

These include:

3 x 100ml bottles of Morphine

10 x boxes of Lyrica (from 25mg to 200mg)

5 x boxes of Diazepam (2mg)

8 x boxes of Diazepam (5mg)

8 x boxes of Digoxin (125mg)

Detective Inspector Kenny Blain, from Oldham CID, said: “If you have been offered any of these drugs, or have found them, it is important you do not take them.

“These medications have to be prescribed by trained professionals and could have devastating consequences if they fall into the wrong hands.

“It is imperative that we find them and I would urge anyone who has come across them to hand them in to a medical centre, pharmacy or police station.

“You might not be sure if you have these specific medications, so to be safe please call police. Please do not take any risks. If you have taken them then immediately call 999.

“I would also ask anyone who has any information about where these drugs might be to call police urgently.”

Anyone with any information should call police on 101 quoting incident number 331 of 31 January 2017 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
