Green Island Festival, an enriching music and cultural escapade for all ages, announces the line-up for its dedicated family-friendly kids morning, in collaboration with Conker Crew for its June and July dates and The Playhouse Project for July.

The festival will span across summer and early autumn, with the first chapter falling on Saturday 17th June, part two on Saturday 29th July, and the final chapter on Saturday 9th September. The 500-capacity festival will see Hulme Community Garden Centre’s flora paradise transformed into an arts mecca.

This year sees the festival team up with arts and crafts experts, Conker Crew, to present their fun-filled, family friendly kids morning, running from 10am – 12am each date. Tickets are £7.50, and adults can purchase a kids morning and main festival combination ticket for £11.15. Children under 12 have free entry to the main festival.

Conker Crew are an immersive nature-play collective, bringing fresh air fun to urban families with a wholesome vibe. Kids can get imaginative at their creative-station, utilising a range of materials like material scraps, ribbons, bells, sticks, wooden discs, and wool, to bring their ideas to life. In addition, there will be exciting and educational activities like seed bombs, where kids can learn about gardening and

conservation, and hapa zome, a fascinating leaf dyeing technique using foliage and hammers. They can also enjoy clay modelling, engaging in a tactile and hands-on experience.

For those who love nature and craftsmanship, there will be willow weaving workshops where there will be the opportunity to create beautiful flower crowns and dream catchers. These nature-inspired crafts will allow children to express their creativity while connecting with the natural world around them. To make the event even more memorable, resident DJs Atiké (Me Gusta) and Dr. Jive will be curating the soundtrack for the morning to get everyone energised for the day.  

The July date will also have Conker Crew’s range of activities, plus family-rave pioneers The Playhouse Project curating the ultimate family party. Grab the little ones and join our bigger family to dance and create to the soundtrack of local hero DJ and Producer METRODOME. Expect all genres and styles for this very special and exclusive DJ set.

Hula Hula Circus will be providing a variety of workshops expect: hula hoops, diablos, bucket stilts, spinning plates, flower sticks, gymnastic ribbons and diablos, great fun for both the kids and adults. Plus Inflatables, giant balloons, bubble and foam machines, play dough and colouring tables, face painting and much more.
