A Sale man who threatened another man he met through a dating app and then stole his car has been jailed
Paul Willis-Hughes aged 19 , of Lingfield got into his victims car on Newgate Road in February 2025 and threatened him with a machete.
The male fled the vehicle and Willis-Hughes drove off in the car. Willis-Hughes was identified via CCTV and mobile data analysis.
Willis-Hughes pleaded guilty to robbery and was jailed for four years when he appeared at Bolton Crown Court on Friday
PC Jones said: “Willis-Hughes set up the date for the sole purpose of stealing a car. He is a violent individual and is now rightly behind bars.
“We hope this sends a message that robbery will not be tolerated. We will pursue offenders and bring them to justice.”
