Hatch, Manchester’s award-winning food, drink and retail destination, has welcomed two new retail traders to the community

Hatch, Manchester’s award-winning food, drink and retail destination, has welcomed two new retail traders to the community.

Beauty 101 is a Korean and Japanese skincare specialist. Owner Alexis Li set up the business when she noticed that choices were limited when it came to Korean and Japanese skincare products. The products that were available were either extremely expensive or had long wait times on delivery.

So, Alexis decided to bring the best of Korean and Japanese beauty to the UK. Beauty 101 has been trading online for a year and they are delighted to have their first physical shop at Hatch, revealing the secrets of Korean and Japanese skincare to a new audience.

The second new trader joining the roster is Last Ember. Owner Mark Lavelle specialises in handmade soy wax candles which will be made right here in Manchester on the Hatch site. Last Ember also curates and sells a beautiful selection of gifts and homeware.

Shoppers can return their empty candles for a discount off their next purchase and if they’re sticking around to take in the full experience of Hatch, can even get a new candle poured and cured on the day whilst having a bite to eat and a drink. Established in 2021,  Last Ember have been trading at local markets over the last year, and are delighted to be opening their first permanent operation at Hatch as it means they can develop stronger relationships with their repeat customers as well as meeting new ones.

Commentating on the retailers, Rowan Hadfield, General Manager at Hatch said, “The two new fantastic independent retail additions bring a welcome new dimension to shopping at Hatch and perfectly complement the existing family of food, drink and retail traders at Hatch. Both Beauty 101 and Last Ember are experts in what they do and we can’t wait for customers to discover more about their exciting products.”

Hatch is home to some of the most exciting and creative independent businesses including vintage fashion retailer Suzy Loves Milo as well as Herbivorous, BeaverTown Brewery and Parmogeddon in the city and these new traders add even more value to Hatch as a hotspot for disruptive and creative retailers.
