Greater Manchester’s Nighttime Economy advisor Sacha Lord has announced that he is stepping following a review of funding a Company he was involved in received during the Covid pandemic

The controversy surrounds a £400,000 grant given to an events company co-owned by Lord by the Arts Council which the body is now claiming back

Allegations were made last year that the Arts Council may have been misled over the use of the money by Primary Events Solutions

The Arts Council in a statement said

“Following a thorough review of the application that Primary Event Solutions submitted to the Culture Recovery Fund in 2021, our decision is to withdraw the grant that was awarded and we are seeking to recover this money.”

In a statement Lord said that he was “concerned over inconsistencies and a lack of proportionality” in how the review was handled.

“The length of time taken to bring the matter to a close raises cause for concern and these delays have taken a significant, personal toll on myself and my family,”
