Will you go blue for St Ann’s this May to raise money for the local patients and families they care for?

You can say ‘yes’ to blue in whatever way works for you: You could wear something blue to work or school and ask everyone to donate (fancy dress could make it fun), bake something blue for a bake sale or craft something blue for a craft-and-coffee morning.

Hold some fun games themed on the colour blue – like a quiz! Arrange a run, walk swim or cycle dressed in blue – ask your friends, family and colleagues to sponsor you. You can go #Blue4StAnns at work, at school, in your community, or even from home.

St Ann’s Hospice are asking everyone to go blue on Friday 17th May, but you can go blue on any day in May if Friday 17th doesn’t work for you.

The staff and volunteers at St Ann’s Hospice’s Romiley charity shop are taking part and going blue on Friday 17th May. Esme Evans, the Shop Manager, says: “We are all very excited to be taking part in Go Blue for St Ann’s Hospice!

“We will be wearing blue on the day, and we’ll be putting out a blue-themed charity shop window to match. Our staff are going to make cakes to sell in the shop on the day and we’re going to do a raffle too, so we’d love people to stop by on the day to support – or join in!”

Some of St Ann’s top tips for raising the most money with your Go Blue event or activity include: setting up your own QR code on your JustGiving page and sharing it, taking photos of when you’re going blue and tagging @stannshospice on social media, talking to your employer to see if match funding is an option, and Gift Aiding your donations if you’re a UK tax payer.

You can register for your free fundraising pack for ideas and tips and the hospice can provide materials such as balloons, posters and collection boxes, to ensure you go #Blue4StAnns in style!

Anne-Marie Wynne, Head of Fundraising at St Ann’s Hospice, says: “We couldn’t support thousands of local people every year without your help. Going #Blue4StAnns this May will help us to provide excellent free care and support to people affected by life-limiting illnesses.”
