When Lauren Jackson attested as a police constable on 13 August 2019, she joined not one but three members of her family who are also currently serving officers in GMP.

The 20-year-old is following the footsteps of her mum, dad and stepsister in helping to keep the communities of Greater Manchester safe.

PC Lauren Jackson’s mum Tina is currently a Detective Constable at Bury with her father, Inspector Jim Jones part of the Criminal Justice Branch and her stepsister Rachel, a PC in Tameside.

PC Lauren Jackson said: “I’ve been really excited to start my training to be a PC. I’ve wanted to be part of the police for as long as I can remember as I love helping people.

“With both my parents also being part of the force, as well as my stepsister – I wanted to follow in their footsteps to make them as proud of me as I am of them.

“The training has been really interesting but I just can’t wait to get out there.”

Inspector Jim Jones said: “It makes me so proud to see Lauren following in my footsteps but also being able to forge her own path within GMP.

“Myself, Tina and Rachel have all been offering words of wisdom and guidance for Lauren’s first day out on patrol, and we couldn’t be more excited to see where her career takes her.”

Following an intense training course, PC Jackson will be joining the team in Rochdale and is will be getting ready to start her first shift on Monday 23 December.
