As of right now, there were 1.26M cases in Manchester city, along with other parts of England, with more than 50,000 deaths relating to COVID. The Coronavirus pandemic took the world by storm since the beginning of the year, and some cities were affected a lot worst than others. Government everywhere were telling their people that they should be focusing on spending less time outdoors and working remotely for as much as possible. While a majority of companies and employees were quick to begin working from home, not all companies could take the leap, and many hit the brakes on the work they were doing.

Additionally, there were challenges with businesses as well, and they were struggling to make things work with people not making purchases as often since they were not sure about the future. Additionally, there were challenges with a large number of people losing their jobs and companies forced to shut down.

There were several other issues with Manchester city as well. At the time that the spread started getting a lot worse, the Government was not the fastest to impose lockdown rules. This lead to an increased spread of the virus with more people finding themselves sick. Additionally, issues like these lead to difficulty getting work in the area since immediately after companies began shutting their doors. Many of the companies were looking for a lot more assistance from the Government, and planning on keeping their doors open and equipment running if the Government could provide aide in Manchester, the way they had in many other cuties.

Unfortunately, the Government had nothing for them, nor had they mentioned plans about a plan of action. Additionally, the beginning of November had the Government shutting down a lot of businesses, restaurants and pubs, which was not ideal from a business point of view. If there was a line to be drawn calculating the number of sick people, precautions, and everyone coming out of their houses on one side and shutting businesses on the other, the Government was not walking the line well. The Government also mentioned not providing any aide beyond the Job Support Scheme they were using to assist companies with holding on to the staff they had.

Many within the Government were questioning the idea behind the blanket closure, considering that the decision wasn’t given enough thought. Many even believed that there should have been more done toward protecting businesses and implementing mandatory rules to keep people safe, over shutting everything down. They were also concerned that there were no rules put together to protect the people at risk from catching the virus.

And mayor and council leaders wrote to the prime minister asking for an “immediate review” of the decision to close gyms and leisure centres since there were other parts of the country where they were open or not added to the category of buildings that were closed.

With a large number of people out of work, many were waiting for the system to get better and the pandemic to slow before starting their job hunt. Several others wanted to get back into the job market immediately, and that was one of the main reasons why the DBS check was getting quite popular. With the changes taking place in the job market and the new systems followed, including changes like virtual interviews, employers wanted to make sure they were working with the right people. The new hires had to be a good fit for the company and the teams that they were working with. With so many changes, getting through a background check by reviewing the DBS certificate of the people they were hiring seemed like the right thing to do.

They wanted to make sure their future employees did not have a criminal record. Depending on the work they would be doing, whether they were fit for the position or were comfortable working with the fixed group of people, in the case of daycares or care homes and similar jobs.
