A heartfelt comedy with original songs, clowning and a rave. This is the story of Hannah, who’s decided to live as a sheep. It explores loneliness and the search for connection through hilarity, sheep facts and the best homemade sheep costume you’ve ever seen.
Created and performed by Ruth Berkoff, the multi-award nominated show follows Hannah at her “Big Goodbye Party” as she decides to leave behind human life and embrace life as a sheep. Blending clowning, original songs and unexpected sheep facts, it explores themes of belonging, social anxiety and the struggle to fit in.
Berkoff, a graduate of Ecole Philippe Gaulier, says:
“The Beauty of Being Herd explores social anxiety, neurodiversity and consent in an unexpectedly fun and irreverent way. I love one minute frolicking with the audience and the next, discussing the ache of loneliness. All with knickers on my head.”
The show has sold out around the country and drawn praise for its mix of humour and tenderness:
