Skylight Circus Arts’ new outdoor circus show, Spark! is inspired by the finite energy of the universe and it’s coming to Rochdale.
Funded by Arts Council England, the show brings together Skylight’s professional performers, their regular members and community participants to create a stunning spectacle.
The show starts with a spectacular community parade, created with Todmorden’s Handmade Parade. Event-goers will wind their way around beautiful Falinge park as the parade passes circus performers on route to a grand finale of incredible aerial and circus skills in the picturesque Victorian Courtyard. Following on from last year’s successful Picnic In The Park, this will be a fun filled day for the whole family to enjoy.
Martine Bradford, Skylight’s Creative Director said, “We created SPARK! especially for the beautiful outdoor setting at Falinge Park. We can’t wait to perform it in all its glory for the first time and hope to see you there.”
The parade and circus show begin at 1pm. Afterwards there will be a chance for the audience to try their hands at circus skills.
Skylight have also announced Rochdale’s Cartwheel Arts will be providing a free arts and craft workshop for children. More activities are planned to make this a truly memorable free family day out. This event is a partnership with Vintage Worx, the community development trust which manages Falinge Park.
