Free AI training will be offered to every adult in the UK, with short courses to teach people how to use simple AI tools effectively in the workplace.

The Government has announced that it is partnering with leading tech companies to upskill 10 million workers by 2030 – the biggest targeted training programme since the Open University.

“If we want AI to work for Britain, we need Britons who can work with AI.” the Technology Secretary LIz Kendall said adding

“We want AI to work for everyone – that means making sure everyone can work confidently with AI.”

”By giving people the skills and training they need to embrace this technology, we can ensure every community benefits from the opportunities it creates.”

The Free AI Training platform offers 14 structured courses, many of which are fully free, while others are subsidised. Lessons range from quick 20-minute sessions to more in-depth modules lasting several hours, allowing learners to study at their own pace.

Large organisations including the NHS, British Chambers of Commerce, and the Local Government Association have committed to encouraging staff and members to sign up.
