GMP have made four  arrests today following a fresh day of action targeting suspected criminality in the Piccadily Gardens area.

Throughout the day, officers arrested four individuals for a range of offences, including Breach of Court Bail, Breach of a Criminal Behaviour Order, and an outstanding warrant.

In addition to targeted enforcement, officers carried out seventeen stop searches, of which nine resulted in positive outcomes. This proactive work helps to disrupt crime, particularly in relation to drugs and weapons, and reassures the community that there is a visible police presence in Piccadilly Gardens.

Alongside enforcement, the team also placed a strong emphasis on safeguarding and support.

Seven vulnerable homeless people were engaged with by officers and offered additional help around housing needs and drug use support services.

By working closely with partner agencies, the team continues to balance enforcement with care, ensuring that those at risk are not left behind.

Sergeant Jon Wyatt, from the Piccadilly Gardens Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “Today’s results show the breadth of neighbourhood policing – from making arrests and tackling criminal behaviour to offering help and guidance to those who need it most.

“We are committed to keeping Piccadilly Gardens safe for everyone who lives, works, or visits here.

“The day’s activity forms part of the wider ongoing neighbourhood policing strategy to reduce crime, protect the vulnerable, and build stronger connections with the community.”
