Former England Striker Darren Bent and team mate Darren Ambrose join the line up for Charity Football Match in honour of Manchester bomb victims

Former England striker and talkSPORT presenter, Darren Bent and team mate/on air co-presenter Darren Ambrose have joined the exclusive line up for the Charity Football Match in honour of the Manchester bomb victims.

Darren Bent hosts his own show Darren Bent’s Bootroom on the world’s biggest Sports station talkSPORT every Sunday evening and on April 3, the show will be coming live from the Manchester City Football Academy after the hosts themselves play in the charity match.

Darren Bent said: “It’s an honour and a privilege to be involved in such a powerful cause. I can’t wait to get the boots back on on April 3rd.”

Organiser Former Police Officer, now fire fighter Aaron Lee said: “Momentum around this game has been phenomenal but to have a member of the Premier League 100 club and former Crystal Palace striker Darren Ambrose joining the ex players squad is just unbelievable. We are so proud to not only have talkSPORT’s support for this event, but to have the Presenters playing ahead of their show is fantastic. We’re looking forward to hearing how out of breath they’ll be once they get on air!”

The ‘Manchester Remembers’, charity football match between footballing legends and celebrities will commemorate the victims of the Manchester Arena attack with monies raised donated to the following charities – some of which were set up by the families who lost loved ones in the arena attack in 2017 – Chloe and Liam Together Forever Trust, Liv’s Trust, The Megan Hurley Foundation, The Remembering Nell Foundation and Eilidh’s Trust.

Head of talkSPORT, Lee Clayton said: “We are honoured to be broadcasting from this powerful event and to support the Manchester Remembers match on talkSPORT. We will pay tribute to the victims, their families and everyone who has been affected by this atrocious attack. We hope that we’re able to increase awareness and raise funds for these important charities.”

To attend the game on April 3, you can purchase both standard and hospitality here. Adult tickets are priced at £20 and concessionary tickets £10. The Hospitality tickets start from £100 and include a 3-course meal as well as drinks before and after the game. Those in hospitality will also have the chance to take part in a raffle, where all proceeds will be donated to the five charities the match is supporting.

Some of the names you can expect to see are: For the celebrity team Manchester City supporter comedian Jason Manford, ‘King of the Jungle’ Danny Miller, Love Island star Callum Jones and comedian Steve Royle. Alongside Former England striker and talkSPORT Presenter, Darren Bent and Crystal Palace’s Darren Ambrose the ex-pro team will field the likes of Manchester City legend Shaun Goater, ex England star Paul Merson and Manchester United legend Wes Brown. The celebrity team will be managed by Joe Royle while the ex-pro team will be overseen by ‘Big’ Sam Allardyce.
