Tapping into the post lock down interest in the natural world, Prestige is offering a Flora and Fauna in the Scillies holiday for Spring 2021.

The five-night break, departing 23 April and 21 May 2021, costs £1,499 per person and includes: return ferry from Penzance, daily breakfast and dinner, accommodation at St Mary’s Hall Hotel and all excursions and transportation in the itinerary.

Reminiscent of the Caribbean but only 28 miles from Cornwall’s Land’s End, the Isles of Scilly archipelago is a subtropical gem complete with idyllic white sandy beaches and crystal blue waters. The escorted tour, led by the islands’ resident ornithologist and naturalist Will Wagstaff, packs in plenty of wildlife plus the chance to take in the huge diversity of flora that flourish in this almost frost free environment.

With St Mary’s as a base, highlights include a guided walk around Tresco and its stunning Abbey Gardens (home to over 20,000 plants from more than 80 countries), an excursion to the untamed island of Bryher, (only half a square mile in size), and visits to some of St Martin’s white sand beaches.  A boat trip to the uninhabited Eastern Isles to encounter Atlantic grey seals and another to view bird colonies also feature on the itinerary.
The islands are home to over 400 species of seabirds, waders and migrants including: The Oystercatcher, Puffin, Night Heron, Manx Shearwater and the Redstart as well as seal colonies. It’s also possible to spot a pod of dolphins on the ferry ride from the mainland.
