A firm linked to Baroness Michelle Mone has been ordered to pay £122m after breaching a Covid PPE contract.

PPE Medpro supplied medical gowns at the beginning of the Covid Pandemic in 2020, the gowns were found to be defective

The Department of Health rejected the gowns because they were unsterile, and told the company to repay the money

Justice Cockerill ruled in favour of the DHSC this morning and ordered PPE Medpro to repay the full £122m plus additional costs and interest adding that PPE Medpro had breached their contract with the government, with the gowns not complying with a “validated sterilisation process.”

Boris Johnson’s government has been accused of squandering £8.7 billion on unusable PPE during the pandemic
