t was another busy weekend for Greater Manchester’s traffic cops who continued to be out day and night keeping our roads safe.

Our Roads Policing Unit teamed up with local officers in Bolton to pursue a stolen car that was driving the wrong way on the M61 yesterday before four suspected burglars were taken to custody.

An arrest was also made after a pursuit in Tameside and an alleged drink-driver was charged after officers clocked a car travelling at 100mph on the M602 in Salford.

Other road traffic offences saw tickets issued including to an impatient driver on the M60 – who took to the hard shoulder to avoid the traffic right in front of one of our patrols – and a Ferrari driver who was caught doing 70+ in a 50mph zone near Manchester airport before telling officers he ‘wanted to make some noise’!
