The stage is set for the return of live Speedway to the city of Manchester on Thursday, September 24th as the Belle Vue ‘BikeRight’ Aces finally take to the track, albeit behind closed doors.

The club will host the only Premiership level team event of the season at the National Speedway Stadium and, in a ground-breaking move for the sport, will be live streaming the meeting.

The BikeRight Aces will face a select side of some of the most skilled riders in the top flight, the ATPI All-Stars, while they themselves will field quite an eye-opening septet.

Three-time world champion Jason Crump dons a Belle Vue race jacket for the first time since 2009, while at least four of the original 2020 Aces line up for the home side.

The meeting also has added significance for Belle Vue in that it allows the retention of their reputation as the oldest continually operating Speedway club in the world; a feat that, to this day, is unmatched.

“It has been our ambition to stage racing in Manchester this season and in that, we have been unrelenting in our efforts, which has brought us to where we are now. It will be a surreal experience with no fans in the stadium, but we are really looking forward to it. A lot of work has gone into this meeting and in terms of the live stream, it’s ground-breaking.

Certainly, at this level, we don’t think it has been done before in the UK. The calibre of riders who expressed their enthusiasm to be a part of this meeting was astounding, and we absolutely delighted with the line-ups for both teams. We’ve got four of our original 2020 Belle Vue Aces, we’ve got two very talented Belle Vue Colts, we’ve got the three-time world speedway champion Jason Crump… We couldn’t have asked for better!

And we hope that, while we cannot welcome fans into the stadium, the supporters will tune into the live stream to support us and, most importantly, we hope they enjoy it.”

(Adrian Smith, Belle Vue CEO)

Fans who have yet to purchase a live stream pass can still do so here; with the meeting available on-demand for pass holders 1 hour after Heat 15.
