The Highway’s Agency will be carrying out important improvement works on Broad Lane bridge, which carries the B6194 over the M62 between junctions 20 and 21, near Rochdale.
Their team is now on site, and traffic management has been installed to allow us to work safely. The project is progressing as planned, and they remain on schedule to complete all construction work by autumn 2026.
The bridge will need to be closed temporarily to complete the expansion joint replacement and surfacing works.

The bridge will be closed overnight for five nights, from:
8pm to 5am nightly

The following is the Diversion route
Broad Lane → Rochdale Road → Crompton Way → Manchester Road → Shaw Road → Broadway → Oldham Road → Rochdale Road → Oldham Road → Shaw Road → and vice versa.
