easyJet has announced it will operate a new winter route to Kittila in Finnish Lapland from Manchester which becomes an entirely new destination for the airline.

For families looking to make Christmas that extra bit magical this winter, easyJet will begin flying to Kittila in Lapland from Manchester for the first time. Flights take off on 16th November and will operate twice a week throughout the winter season providing more families with the opportunity to explore Santa’s village and meet Father Christmas and Rudolph.

Kittila is located 150km north of Roveniemi in the northern arctic circle and will also appeal to winter sports lovers, stargazers looking for a glimpse of the Northern lights and those who wish to explore the snowy alpine forests in the region.

The new flights which are on sale at easyJet.com from today will operate twice a week throughout the Christmas peak winter season on Thursdays and Sundays from 16th November.

Having last year added a new route connecting Manchester to Rovaniemi in the heartland of Lapland, the addition of Kittlia provides even more choice for those from the North West considering booking a magical Christmas break.

Ali Gayward, easyJet’s UK Country Manager said:

“We’re delighted to be adding a new route from Manchester to Kittila this winter. As an entirely new destination in our network, this new connection means we are able to build on our offering from Manchester for those in search of winter breaks by providing customers more choice to enjoy an even greater range of destinations this winter at fantastic low fares. Lapland is perfect especially for families with children looking to visit Father Christmas, winter ski lovers and all those wishing to explore this magical arctic destination.”
