Ducie Street Warehouse and Native Manchester have announced its March programming – featuring a month-long offering to coincide with International Women’s Day.

Introducing the first of Ducie Street Warehouse’s kitchen collaboration series, and to celebrate International Women’s Day, the restaurant is teaming up with the one of the city’s up-and-coming female chefs, Nila Oo from Nila’s Burmese Kitchen. Head Chef Andrew Green and Nila have together created a special Burmese menu, inspired by some of the best-selling dishes from Nila’s Trafford based kitchen. The menu is available in the restaurant throughout March.

Over at the 4K and 7.1 surround sound Mini Cini, a series of happenings will take place this month, including some female-led programming such as a special film screening and DJ set ‘Underexposed’ with Above the Line and Steam Radio, where every Thursday in March, a female directed film will be screened from Above the Line’s collections and then followed by a short DJ set in the lounge from Steam’s residents.

The series is designed to highlight incredible work from underrepresented directors, and to coincide with International Women’s Day, Above the Line and Steam Radio, have put together a collaboration that would celebrate women in the film industry. On Thursday 10th March, the warehouse will welcome Manchester’s award-winning spoken word event for a huge showcase with Verbose. Featuring all-female headliners, the event will present Ella Otomewo, Erin Bolens and Reshma Ruia. Tickets are £5 per person – available to book here.

The warehouse will also host a collection of female fashion pop-ups from local independent and sustainable fashion brands – with Dei-Dei on Saturday 12th March, and then with Shy-Seagul on Saturday 19th March – both running from 11am until 7pm.

And returning to the warehouse is the ‘Pitch Black Playback’ at the Mini Cini for an intimate album listening sessions, first up in March is The Slow Rush by Tame Impala on Tuesday 8th March and followed by Music for Psychedelic Therapy by Jon Hopkins on Tuesday 22nd March.
