Ducie Street Warehouse and Native Manchester announce a series of free and ticketed programming for May to celebrate the best of music, films and arts scenes in Manchester and beyond.

LOUNGE:

Shy-Seagull Pop-Up Shop

Continuing their series of Saturdays pop-ups to showcase independent Manchester brands and creatives, on Saturday 21st May from 11am to 7pm, the warehouse will host local store Shy-Seagull who exclusively stock handcrafted, eco-friendly, ethical, women-owned brands, from jewellery to unique homeware pieces.

GRIT Ceramics

Another pop-up shop will showcase works from GRIT Ceramics, featuring the Manchester’s exciting ceramicist Alison Waters, Caroline Blackburn, Sarah Pink, Sarah Johnson and Nikki Jones. The pop-up shop will be hosted on Saturday 28thMay from 11am until 5pm.

Manchester Union x Funkademia

Manchester’s longest running club night, Funkademia, will team up with the city’s craft lager brewery, Manchester Union, for an all-day disco session at the lounge on Friday 7th May from midday until 1am. Expect the biggest funk, disco and soul jams from Funkademia’s finest resident DJs alongside some free samples of Manchester Union.

AXNÉR x Margo & Lux Launch Party

On Sunday 22nd May from 12pm until 9pm, Ducie Street Warehouse will present a double headed vintage & vinyl launch party presented by Disco Freaks Recordings.  To coincide with AXNÉR’s debut vinyl release, the disco duo have collaborated with Manchester based concept store Margot & Lux to curate a collection featuring hand-picked vintage pieces with 7p’s aesthetic mixed with modern elements.

Mix-Stress and Friends

The warehouse’s very own DJ resident, Mix-Stress, is back to host her monthly session to shine a light on Manchester’s up-and-coming DJ. Mix-Stress will take over the decks on Friday 27th May from 5pm until 11pm.

Sweet Vibrations Radio Residency

Teaming up with Manchester based internet radio station, Ducie Street Warehouse will present a series of takeover from Sweet Vibrations Radio – featuring Katbrownsugar, Alex and Zeyla on Fridays 12th, 19th and 26th May from 5pm until 11pm.

Late Night Date Night

Hosted at the lounge every first Thursday of the month, Late Night Date Night is a new concept to dedicate a friendly evening date, which is perfect for couples and also group of friends. On Thursday 5th May from 7pm till late, Late Night Date Night will be hosted by Jenna G, Katbrownsugar and P-Ro.

Northern Quarter Album Club

This is the latest weekly programming series from Ducie Street Warehouse, where the lounge will curate and play hours of uninterrupted and un-shuffled albums every Wednesday – showcasing anything from modern classics to a more obscure selection.

MINI CINI:

Doc’n Roll – Rebel Dread (2020)

Collaborating with UK’s music documentary film festival celebrating music subcultures, Ducie Street Warehouse and Doc’n Roll will dive into music history as they screen Rebel Dread (2020) – a documentary about the legendary filmmaker, DJ, musician and commentator, Don Letts. The screening will take place at the Mini Cini on Saturday 14th May at 5pm. Tickets priced at £10 and available to purchase here.

GRIMMFEST – Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) and Part 3 (1982)

Ducie Street Warehouse is teaming up with independent horror, cult and sci-fi film festival, GRIMMFEST, to present a back-to-back Friday the 13th Part 2 (1981) and Friday the 13th Part 3 (1982) on Friday 13th from 6.30pm. The Part 3 screening will be shown in 3D for an immersive experience. Tickets are priced at £15 for both screenings and available to purchase here.

Scene It Before

Presenting ‘Scene It Before’ where the warehouse showcases must-see film ahead of its forthcoming prequel release date, on Wednesday 4th May at 7pm, it will show Doctor Strange (2016) and on Wednesday 25th May at 7pm, it will show Top Gun (1986). The ‘Scene It Before’ tickets are priced at £5 and available to purchase here.

Pitchblack Playback

Pitchblack Playback is back with another listening session on Tuesday 10th May to present The Beach Boys’ eleventh studio album Pet Sounds at the Mini Cini’s immersive 5.1 surround sound and 24-bit mix. Tickets are priced at £10 and available to purchase here.

Pawpcorn

Happening every Monday, the warehouse presents ‘Pawpcorn’ a cinema programming dedicated for dogs. Featuring the best of dog-themed films with lower sounds, more lit cinema and toilet breaks to suit every dog. Further information and to book Pawpcorn here.

Bread Flower x Yoga with Emma

Bread Flower, who currently takes residency at the counter, is continuing to team up with Vinyasa Flow Yoga with Emma to host a ‘Yoga & Bagel Brunch’ session. The relaxed and accessible class for all levels will feature meditative and energising elements accompanied by an uplifting playlist, then followed by delicious bagel brunch with a large spread of freshly baked sourdough bagels, a selection of schmears (flavoured whipped cream cheese) and garnishes. Taking place on Sunday 8th May from 10.30am until 12.30am, tickets are priced at £30 per person, or £55 for two and are available here.

Audiotorium by David Scott and Ellie Colton

Happening at the atrium at the towering Native Manchester, BBC Radio Manchester presenters David Scott and Ellie Colton will host ‘Audiotorium’ – a night of spoken word, art and live music to celebrate the local creative talent from across Greater Manchester. The event will take place on Thursday 26th May from 7pm until 10pm. Tickets are priced at £5 and available here.
