A triple second half substitution with half an hour to go turned this game and Droylsden will hope has rejuvenated their disappointing season.

The Bloods found themselves 2-1 down ten minutes into the second half to lowly Prescot Cables after a miscued clearance by central defender Jacob Wood let in Lloyd Dean whose cross was tapped home by Rob Doran.

But Droylsden hit back with two goals from substitute Dominic Smith and another from James Hampson.

Droylsden had fallen behind after thirteen minutes in this must win game to a James McCulloch goal.

Missing for the line up was Fernando Moke who has signed yesterday afternoon for Scarborough Athletic. He was replaced by Billy Hassler Gregg while Coach Jed Murphy filled the gap at centre half as the Bloods tried to shore up a defence that let in five on Tuesday night.

Captain Steve Hall equalised for the Bloods on thirty four minutes firing into the top corner and after a shaky start finished the first half stronger.

Manager Dave Pace reacted to Prescot’s second by bringing on Dominic Smith, Michael Pino and James Hampson and was rewarded by a Smith equaliser just six minutes later.

James Hampdon fired the Bloods into the lead four minutes later and Smith made it four with six minutes to go after good work by Zibaka.

Droylsden lost their captain Steve Hall who was stretched off in injury time and a scrambled goal by Dean left the home side hanging on for the final two minutes.
