Footage from a police bodyworn camera of Joshua Molnar being questioned minutes after Yousef was stabbed is being shown on TV tonight

Channel Four’s Killed by a Rich Kid looks at the events in Hale in 2019 when Yousef Makki was fatally stabbed by his friend – who was found not guilty of murder & manslaughter, saying it was self-defence

Joshua Molnar, who grew up in Hale, was cleared of murder and manslaughter after the jury accepted that he acted in self-defence, and in February 2020 he was released from a Young Offenders’ Institute only 215 days into a 16-month sentence.

The documentary promises to take “a forensic look” at the Manchester Grammar School pupil’s killing and the subsequent trial and inquest.

An officer asks how it happened. “I don’t know,” says Molnar, claiming he saw a car drive off. Who would have done it? “I don’t know”
